Private Sewing Lessons
Private Sewing Lessons are tailored to participants' skill levels, interests, and abilities.
Below are the skill levels and suggested projects.
Who can attend
- Adults: 18 years and older
- Teens: 12 to 17 years
- Kids: 7 to 11 years (Must attend with an adult companion)
- Maximum: 2 attendees per lesson (adult companions don't count toward this limit)
Example Lesson Content/Projects
Beginners
- Beginners are new to sewing or haven't sewn for a long time.
They are first taught how to thread and operate a sewing machine.
- Sewing Machine Basics (About one 1.5/2-hour lesson*)
Projects
- Cushion cover (About one 2-hour lesson*)
Beyond Beginners
Beyond beginners have some sewing experience and are familiar with the basics of using a sewing machine. They are encouraged to practice and build their sewing skills by making simple projects.

- Tote Bag (About two 2-hour lessons*)
- Elastic Pull on Skirt/Trousers/Shorts (About three 2-hour lessons*)
Advanced Beginners and beyond
Advanced Beginners and beyond can confidently thread and operate their sewing machine and are ready to try some larger, more complex projects.
